By the end, you’ll know how.
- Understand the Irish legal framework and why schools need a child-focused, practical approach to personal data.
- Understand and apply each Article 5 principle to school activities.
- Identify the correct Article 6 basis and, where applicable, the additional Article 9 condition.
- Make school data processing understandable and demonstrable from collection through deletion.
- Understand the legal relationship between schools, parents, public bodies, suppliers and technology providers.
- Protect school data through appropriate technical and organisational measures and respond quickly when something goes wrong.
- Recognise, assess and respond properly to rights requests from pupils, parents/guardians and staff.
- Apply Irish ePrivacy requirements alongside GDPR to communications and online activity.
- Recognise higher-risk processing and turn the course into a practical school action plan.
